Well I may be a day late and a dollar short, but I’ve finally gotten one of the class recordings from our homesteading conference up! I have a couple more left to do, but I will be getting to those at a later date. Unfortunately I had some issues with my camera (mostly user error to be honest — what can I say, I’m still learning the ropes), so I was not able to get all of the speakers. And, as you’ll see in this video, we went in and out of focus a time or two.
Regardless, there is some excellent information in here for new and seasoned homesteaders alike! I just love Patara — she always lays down the truth without sugar coating anything. She also has a real gift for public speaking. You definitely want to give her talk a listen, and then go check her out on youtube and facebook.
Patara, along with Misty Prepper, is also hosting a homesteading conference herself in April, so check out the Appalachian Homesteading Conference as well! I will be there, too, speaking on choosing the right livestock to raise for meat on your homestead.
Hi i was wondering how do i store my dried Orca beans for the winter?
i am new to making preserves and keeping squash etc thru the winter but have never keep dried beans.
thanks
Hi Natasha! Once the beans are thoroughly dried, you can store them in a glass jar pretty easily. You want to keep them out of any kind of damp environment or direct sunlight.
